A learner permit first, then a wait, then a test.     Apply for the learner permitلرنر پرمٹ کے لیے درخواست دیں

    In Punjab this is done online through DLIMS or the Punjab Police app, and also at police stations and Khidmat Markaz centres.     A payment slip ID is generated and paid through banking or mobile payment channels.     Wait out the learner periodلرنر کی مدت پوری ہونے دیں

    The learner must be a set age — commonly six weeks — before you may apply for the permanent licence. Applying earlier does not speed anything up; the application is simply refused.مستقل لائسنس کی درخواست سے پہلے لرنر کا ایک مقررہ عرصہ گزرنا ضروری ہے — عموماً چھ ہفتے۔ جلدی درخواست دینے سے کچھ تیز نہیں ہوتا، صرف مسترد ہو جاتی ہے۔

    Also watch the other end. A learner permit expires, commonly after six months. Leave it too long and you start again from the beginning, with the fee again.

    Take the testٹیسٹ دیں

    The permanent licence requires a driving test at a licensing centre, usually with a written or signs component. In many centres you are expected to bring a vehicle yourself.مستقل لائسنس کے لیے لائسنسنگ سینٹر میں ڈرائیونگ ٹیسٹ ہوتا ہے، عموماً تحریری یا سائن کے حصے کے ساتھ۔ کئی مراکز میں گاڑی خود لانا ہوتی ہے۔

    Collect and check the categoryوصول کریں اور کیٹیگری جانچیں

    Licences are issued by category — motorcycle, car, LTV, HTV. Driving outside your category is an offence even with a valid licence, and insurers treat it as driving unlicensed.لائسنس کیٹیگری کے مطابق جاری ہوتا ہے — موٹر سائیکل، کار، ایل ٹی وی، ایچ ٹی وی۔ اپنی کیٹیگری سے باہر گاڑی چلانا، لائسنس ہوتے ہوئے بھی، جرم ہے اور بیمہ اسے بغیر لائسنس شمار کرتا ہے۔

A licence issued by one province is valid across Pakistan. No. The learner permit and the waiting period are the process, not a queue to skip. It is treated as driving without one, and it also tends to void motor insurance claims — which is usually the far more expensive half.
