Vehicle transfer and token taxگاڑی کی منتقلی اور ٹوکن ٹیکس
Until the registration is actually transferred, the vehicle is still legally yours — along with every challan, every tax year and anything done with it. What you need for the transferمنتقلی کے لیے کیا درکار ہے
- The original registration book or card — not a photocopy, not a scan.اصل رجسٹریشن بک یا کارڈ — نہ فوٹو کاپی، نہ اسکین۔
- CNICs of both buyer and seller — both must be present for biometrics.خریدار اور بیچنے والے دونوں کے شناختی کارڈ — بایومیٹرک کے لیے دونوں کا حاضر ہونا لازم۔

Check the vehicle before you pay anythingادائیگی سے پہلے گاڑی کا ریکارڈ دیکھیں
MTMIS shows the registered owner, engine and chassis details, token tax status and outstanding challans. Match the chassis number physically. Compare what MTMIS shows against the plate on the vehicle itself, not against the book the seller hands you. The book can be forged; the record cannot. - 2
Clear every outstanding due firstپہلے تمام واجبات ادا کریں
Unpaid token tax years and unpaid e-challans will block the transfer. So will an unreleased bank hypothecation if the vehicle was financed. Settle all of it before the application.غیر ادا شدہ ٹوکن ٹیکس کے سال اور ای چالان منتقلی روک دیتے ہیں۔ اگر گاڑی بینک سے فنانس ہوئی تھی تو غیر منسوخ شدہ ہائپوتھیکیشن بھی۔ درخواست سے پہلے سب طے کریں۔

Transfer of ownership is initiated by the buyer through e-Pay Punjab or the provincial app. A challan with a PSID number is generated and paid through banking channels.ملکیت کی منتقلی خریدار ای پے پنجاب یا صوبائی ایپ سے شروع کرتا ہے۔ پی ایس آئی ڈی نمبر والا چالان بنتا ہے جو بینکنگ ذرائع سے ادا ہوتا ہے۔

Biometric verification is required for vehicle transfers, which means the seller cannot simply vanish after taking the money. Arrange this as part of the sale, not afterwards.گاڑی کی منتقلی کے لیے بایومیٹرک تصدیق لازم ہے، یعنی بیچنے والا رقم لے کر غائب نہیں ہو سکتا۔ اسے سودے کا حصہ بنائیں، بعد کا کام نہیں۔
This rule protects you. Make the biometric appointment a condition of handing over the final payment, and the most common used-car fraud becomes impossible. - 5

- Selling on an “open letter”.You sign a blank transfer letter, take the money, and hand over the car. The buyer never transfers it. Every challan, every unpaid tax year and anything the vehicle is used for remains legally yours. - Buying without checking MTMIS.Stolen vehicles, tampered chassis numbers and cars still under bank finance all look fine in a forged registration book. - Years of unpaid token tax discovered at transfer.The arrears land on whoever is trying to transfer.
